25 Pounds a Night Hotel Voted Best in the World

KINGSTON UPON THAMES, England, (PRNewswire/WorldTourismNews.eu) -- ONLINE giant TravelRepublic.co.uk has unveiled its top 20 hotels in 2010 -- as determined by its customers -- and the number one property is the Aegean Sky Hotel in Crete, which costs just 25 pounds per night.

Managing director Paul Furner said: "Last year we received more than 70,000 new reviews. We've added up the ratings our customers gave the hotels they stayed in and have compiled the top 20.

"We are delighted that this year a newcomer takes the top spot -- the Aegean Sky Hotel in Malia, Crete. Congratulations to the team there! This property received an almost perfect score -- 4.95 out of 5 -- making it the highest ranking in our customers' eyes."

Furner added: "With more than 100,000 hotels on the site, securing a spot in the top 20 is an impressive achievement. The achievement of the Aegean Sky, in outranking luxury hotels costing hundreds of pounds per night in terms of customer satisfaction, cannot be underestimated."

There are now over 235,000 independent hotel reviews on TravelRepublic.co.uk with hundreds more being added every day.

Customers can only post a review on Travel Republic once they've made a booking and returned home. This makes the reviews 100% authentic and not open to manipulation. When reviewing a hotel customers are asked to rate their experience from one (terrible) to five (excellent). To be eligible a hotel needed to receive at least 25 reviews during the year.
