Breckenridge, Colo. (PRNewswire/WorldTourismNews.eu) -- Relive Breckenridge's fascinating history and heritage during Kingdom Days June 19 and 20 to take place throughout the town. The Breckenridge Resort Chamber in conjunction with the Breckenridge Heritage Alliance and various other Breckenridge non-profits and local businesses are excited to offer a robust line-up of events and activities including the town's famed outhouse races, historic mine tours, museum exhibits, gun fights, live bluegrass music, blacksmithing demonstrations, storytelling, historic hikes and plenty of kids' activities all weekend long.

New this year, Kingdom Days will include tours of the new summit Ski Museum, a historic home tour and a public art dedication of the "Outcropping House II" by Albert Bellevue, a stone and steel outhouse sculpture located in the Arts District of Breckenridge.

Festivities will wrap-up on Sunday afternoon with Breckenridge's fourth annual outhouse races on Ridge Street at 3 p.m. as seen on MSNBC's "Countdown with Keith Olbermann." A party at Carter Park with take place following the outhouse races with a $5 BBQ (includes a meal and two drink vouchers) and live bluegrass music from Summit County's The Luv Brothers.

Why the name, "Kingdom Days?" Breckenridge was inadvertently left off a U.S. map in the mid-1800s and became known as "Colorado's Kingdom" until the mistake was discovered nearly a half a century later in 1936 when it was finally incorporated. So began the quirky character of Breckenridge that lives on today. Kingdom Days is a fun-filled way for both visitors and locals of all ages to experience the lure of Breckenridge to the adventurous gold prospectors of the past and the modern day prospectors of the present, still in-search of adventure.
