Argentina: Tourism in January recorded its strongest growth in a decade
Argentina. The government registered some 9.5 million passengers in January, representing a growth of 10.2%, the highest tourist in the last decade. The Secretary of Tourism, Enrique Meyer, highlighted the high levels of employment in all places and said that the outlook for February and March are to provide a record summer.
According to provisional data, supplied by the provincial and municipal tourism in the country, it is estimated that in the second half of January has been a growth of 11%, which would result in an increase of 10.2% over the month for to January 2009.
Preliminary data from the Bureau of Market Research and Statistics SecTur, report that these positive results are recorded both for Argentine residents vacationing within the country and for foreigners to visit.
Among overseas visitors, income Brazilians during December rose 25% in the most recent arrivals in five years. According to the statistics of the unit, tourist arrivals to Argentina in the summer seasons from 2003 to 2009 outlined an overall increase of 32% aggregate.
