Emirates, Marriott sign Dubai property deal

Emirates Airline has announced the signing of a contract with Marriott International for the launch of a new hotel in Dubai. The JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai is a huge, 1,614-room twin tower hotel and apartment property currently under construction on Sheikh Zayed Road, adjacent to Dubai’s Business By district.

The first 807-room tower is scheduled for completion in 2011, with the second tower following in 2013. It will be the group’s second JW Marriott Marquis Hotel, following the launch of the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel in Miami in 2010.

Making the announcement at the Arabian Travel Market, Marriott’s President and Managing Director, Ed Fuller, said; “The JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai will be a unique and visually stunning hotel without pretence that welcomes the world to this incredible city.”
