27/08/2008 19:41

Interstate Hotels & Resorts has opened the Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya for business in Russia's capital. Interstate negotiated a franchise agreement with Hilton Hotels Corporation (HHC) to manage the hotel, which is owned by JSC Sadko. It will be the first of three different Hilton brands to open in Russia this year.

The Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya was originally constructed in 1954 and remains one of the seven Stalin towers that stand out in Moscow's skyline. The hotel will retain most of the original architecture, with modern refurbishments for the 273 rooms (39 of which are executive rooms) spread over 28 floors. It is located next to Moscow's Garden Righ, which is nearby the city’s main Leningradskaya train station and provides easy access to the Red Square.

HHC will open a Hilton Garden Inn hotel in the Russian city of Perm and a Doubletree by Hilton  in Novosibirsk by the end of the year. The company is also focusing on St. Petersburg for future developments.
