14/11/2010 18:19

Seattle (PRNewswire/WorldTourismNews.eu) -- Gray Line of Alaska's new 2011 Alaska and the Yukon brochure is now available, and the company is taking reservations for next year.  A leader in Alaska and Yukon tourism with more than 60 years experience, Gray Line of Alaska offers pre-planned and customized tours as well as day trips from key cities.

In 2011 these include three- to 11-day tours throughout Alaska and the Yukon that range from Denali packages and escorted tours to self-drive trips, highway tours, adventure tours and post-cruise connection packages.

"Gray Line specializes in planning tours to suit individual travelers' schedules and desired routes," said Mark Mumm, director of sales and marketing for Gray Line of Alaska.  "We are proud of the expertise and personal attention we dedicate to each guest or group to create their ideal travel itinerary."

In 2011 Gray Line is featuring a total of 26 customizable tours and many day trips ranging from Anchorage sightseeing to Arctic flightseeing.

"Because we have extensive experience operating in Alaska and the Yukon, we have prime access to all forms of transportation from deluxe motor coaches to luxurious McKinley Explorer rail cars on the Alaska Railroad and day cruise boats," added Mumm.

Denali Tours Showcase Highlight of Alaska

A visit to Denali National Park offers the opportunity to see Alaska's famed wildlife, wilderness and spectacular Mt. McKinley. The popular three-day Denali Sampler provides overnight accommodations in Anchorage or Fairbanks before taking guests via a deluxe motor coach or the luxurious McKinley Explorer rail cars on the Alaska Railroad to Denali for a second night's stay. An additional night in Denali may be added to the package, and all transfers are included.

Other Denali tours range from six- and seven-day tours to day trips within the park. Guests can opt for the seven-day Denali-Kenai Explorer – Gray Line's "Best of Alaska" tour that combines Denali with Seward's highlights, including a cruise through the Kenai Fjords National Park. With other packages, travelers can combine Denali with a cruise on Prince William Sound or experience the remote Denali Backcountry Lodge. Day trips in and around Denali include hiking excursions, wildlife tours, fly fishing, river rafting, flightseeing, glacier landing by helicopter and more.

Escorted Group Tours Bring Like-Minded Travelers Together

For travelers who prefer to explore Alaska while enjoying the camaraderie of a group, Gray Line offers two eight-day escorted itineraries. Guests enjoy the convenience of an accompanying tour guide to handle logistics and provide information while traveling by luxury glass-domed rail car, boat and deluxe motor coach. The Escorted Great Land Explorer takes guests from Fairbanks to Anchorage, visiting Denali, Talkeetna and Cooper Landing on the Kenai Peninsula. The Escorted Alaska Explorer is a roundtrip tour from Anchorage that includes Talkeetna, Denali, Alyeska and Cooper Landing.

Self-Drive Tours for the Adventurer

For the true independent explorer, Gray Line also offers two pre-planned, self-drive tours, which include a rental car, set itinerary, hotel reservations and select tours along the way. The eight-day Alaska by Car with McKinley Explorer rail car features a drive from Anchorage to Seward, Talkeetna and Fairbanks, then a scenic train ride on the Alaska Railroad to Denali and Anchorage. Valdez by Car is a nine-day tour roundtrip from Anchorage with stops in Valdez, Glennallen, Fairbanks and Denali National Park.

Day Tours Provide Select Options to Customize a Vacation

Besides Denali, Gray Line offers a wide range of day tours and adventures in many destinations: Anchorage, Alyeska, Seward, Talkeetna, Fairbanks, Skagway, and Juneau, Alaska; and in Dawson City, Yukon Territory. Excursions include city tours, flightseeing, rafting, jeep tours, wildlife sightseeing tours, museums and hiking. These can be booked at Gray Line offices in Alaska and the Yukon as well as online at https://www.graylinealaska.com or with a travel agent.

Custom Group Tours Cater to Specific Needs

Gray Line plans custom tours for groups as well as individual travelers. A group may wish to add a trip to Denali following their cruise or do an extensive tour of interior Alaska and the Yukon. Gray Line can customize their trip with the addition of sightseeing tours, meals and beverages, parties, private shuttles and more. Itineraries can be tailored to fit group needs and preferences, including flexible departure times and routes.

Arrangements and reservations for custom group tour packages can be made with your travel agent, via the Gray Line web site at www.graylinealaska.com or by calling 1-800-544-2206.
