Hospitality leaders gather Monday for investment summit; tips for following the event

Starting tomorrow, the hospitality industry - and Hotel Check-In - will be closely watching the three-day Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS) in San Diego. The event will mark the first time the industry's leaders and bankers gather in 2010 to discuss the year's outlook.

The hope is that 2010 will bring the hotel industry better news than last year, but nothing's certain. Only two weeks ago at the opening of Andaz Wall Street, Hyatt CEO Mark Hoplamazian said: "The fact is there are mixed signals right now in the general economy. I think people are still trying to get their hands around what the profile of 2010 is going to look like."
