KLM: new jet on Edinburgh route

KLM cityhopper has taken delivery of its first Embraer 190 E-jet.
It will be deployed on the Amsterdam Schiphol – Edinburgh service.
It is the first of ten new aircraft the airline – a subsidiary of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines – will receive over the next 18 months.
The new planes will replace the company’s fleet of Fokker 100s.
The Embraer 190 (pictured) is a twin-engine jet, which can carry up to 100 passengers. It has a range of 2,800 miles. The cabin is configured with a two-class layout.
Michel Coumans, managing director of KLM cityhopper, said: “The aircraft will enable us to improve our operational performance throughout Europe with a superior product for our customers, while considerably reducing emissions.”
