Lawmakers Back New London Gatwick Runway

The British Government should consider building an extra runway at London's Gatwick Airport rather than at the city's Stansted Airport, according to a report from a group of MPs.
The House of Commons Transport Committee said they were "not convinced that a national case for an additional runway at Stansted has been made."
The report said that delays in a decision on a second Stansted runway, coupled with the recession and declining passenger numbers meant that the runway would be unlikely to be completed before 2019.
