New CTD Association Launched by Corporate Travel Managers

USA (World Tourism News) - The newly formed Corporate Travel Department Association (CTDA) held its inaugural meeting during the eighth annual Corporate Travel Departments (CTD) conference in Carlsbad, CA , November 5-8.

With more than fifty corporate travel managers in attendance, the conference was facilitated by the Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC), the accrediting entity for Corporate Travel Departments (CTDs).

The new CTDA is a not-for-profit trade association for ARC-approved CTDs, ARC said in a statement. The mission is to network, improve "best practices" in both service and cost-savings programs within their member companies, and develop a collaborative preferred supplier base on behalf of the group.

ARC said the intent of CTDA is to promote the further growth of the number of approved CTD locations from its current number of 129 locations through mentoring and marketing efforts to other corporations. Annual airline sales from CTD operations currently total over $1.1 billion.

The CTD  honored Kathy Hall-Zientek, Manager, Travel Services, Moog Inc., as CTD of the year in recognition of her contributions to the CTD community and her leadership in the formation of CTDA.
