Prestige Resorts sues Hilton for trademark infringement

23/03/2009 10:58

Prestige Resorts & Destinations, operator of a site-selection service for meeting planners, filed a trademark-infringement suit against Hilton in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis.

Hilton recently dubbed its luxury and lifestyle collection its Prestige Portfolio. Prestige said Hilton's move "is likely to cause confusion and mistake among members of the trade and the public."

"It was necessary for us to take this action to protect our name, which we have built for more than 25 years in the hospitality industry," stated Prestige CEO Blair McKeever.
